When you want a compact vehicle, but a crossover just isn't who you are, then Kia saves the day with the 2022 Forte compact sedan. It combines outstanding style, roominess, and surprising value that makes it not only desirable, but accessible to many prospective buyers.
The Forte is gaining ground and surpassing the top competition in the segment. To illustrate, we compare the 2022 Forte to the 2022 Honda Civic.
A new Forte starts with a low MSRP that fits many budgets. The starting MSRP of $18,295 sometimes shocks potential buyers, but not Kia. The automaker continues to refine the quality and value proposition of every Forte model year. As a matter of fact, no less than four models have lower MSRPs than the Civic sedan's entry trim that starts at over $24,000.
All Forte trims have initial prices below $30,000, including the top-grade GT Limited with its turbocharged enfine. The Civic sedan's top grade approaches the mid-$30,000 range.
Another outstanding feature of the 2022 Forte is efficiency. Many have grown accustomed to the Civic being a gas efficiency leader, especially in the highway, but it no longer holds that title. The Forte advances with a better highway fuel rating of as low as 5.9 L/100km.
Both the Forte and Civic sedan also offer top-grade turbocharged models, but the Forte edges out its competitor in metrics and equipment. The Forte GT Limited's 1.6L turbo produces a fun-inducing 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The Civic Si's 1.5L turbo falls short of these numbers, and the Si's 6-speed manual transmission isn't quite advanced as the Forte GT Limited's 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
Besides the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic in the GT Limited, the Forte lineup also offers a 6-speed manual in the LX MT and a standard intelligent variable transmission (IVT) in all other trims. You just won't get as much choice with the Civic sedan's 6-speed manual in the Si and a standard CVT in all other grades.
The Kia Forte is more efficient, more stylish and more capable than the Civic, all at a better price. You can shop for your car online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions.
